제목 : 평화의 왕으로 오신 예수님

안녕하세요 새생명 성도님들 한 주 동안 잘지내셨나요?
이번 주 하나님의 말씀은 이사야서 11장을 통해 본 평화의 왕으로 오신 예수님 라는 주제의 말씀입니다.
바쁘시더라도 잠깐 묵상하는 시간을 가지셔서 말씀의 은혜를 누리시길 바랍니다.
2018년 올해 남북 회담 정상회의, 북미 정상 회담을 통해 분단과 전쟁의 위기 가운데 평화를 볼 수 있는 한 해 였습니다.
하지만 현대 세상은 빠른 변화의 시대를 살고 있고, 이로 인해 미래에 대한 많은 두려움과 걱정 가운데 살아 갑니다.
이러한 시대 가운데 우리가 평화를 누리기 위해선 어떻게 해야 할까요?
1.진정한 평화는 예수 그리스도로 부터 시작됩니다.
-우리는 평화를 원하지만 우리의 힘으로 그것을 이룰 수 없습니다. 오늘 본문의 이새(다윗의 아버지)의 줄기에서 싹이 난 다는 말씀은 다윗의 자손에서 그리스도가 태어날 것이라는 것을 의미합니다. 이새는 지극히 평범하고 다문화 가정에서 자란 이였는데, 이 가문을 통해 예수님이 오셨습니다. 다윗의 후손은 남유다를 통해 이어져 내려왔지만, 바벨론을 통해 멸망이 되었습니다.
포로가 되었고 희망이 없었지만, 70년 이후 귀환하여 성전을 건설하며 하나님은 그의 백성을 회복하셨고, 하나님의 언약을 따라 다윗의 후손으로 예수님을 보내셨습니다.
새싹은 작고 연약하지만, 생명을 품고 있기 때문에 희망이 있습니다. 예수님도 연약한 아기로 오셨지만 부활의 선물을 주시며 희망을 주셨습니다.
예수님을 잘 믿는 다는 것은 부유하고, 편안히 사는 것이 아니라, 고난 가운데 예수님을 믿고 말씀을 따르는 것입니다.
현재의 고난은 장차 나타날 영광에 비할 수 없다고 사도바울은 말하였습니다.
죽음, 절망, 전쟁의 문제는 오직 하나님만 해결 하실 수 있다는 것을 깨달아야 합니다.
진정한 평화를 위해서 예수님을 만나야 합니다. 예수님을 모시고 살면, 내 안에 평안이 있습니다.
좋은 집, 좋은 차등 내가 소유한 것은 평안을 줄 수 없습니다. 예수님과 관계가 멀어지면 우리는 아무것도 아님을 알아야 합니다.
2.진정한 평화는 사랑의 공동체를 통해 이루어 집니다.
-예언서는 여러가지 시각으로 보아야 하며, 시간의 제약을 두지 않고 해석할 수 있어야 합니다. 본문인 이사야서는 예언서이고, 이는 예수님의 재림 이후의 시간에 대해 예언한 것입니다.
약육강식의 시대인 현 시대가 끝나고 재림 이후 평화의 시대가 도래한다는 것을 예언한 것입니다.
교회의 모습은 이와 같이 예수님의 사랑 안에서 하나가 되는 것입니다.
십자가의 사랑으로 서로를 용서하고, 화해하며 연합하여 평화를 이루는 곳이 되어야 합니다.
교회는 서로 다른 사람이 만나, 서로 다른 환경에서 다른 생각과 가치관을 가지고 있지만, 예수님 한분으로 하나될 수 있는 사랑의 공동체가 되어야 합니다.
우리가 사랑의 공동체를 이루어 간다면 평화를 이룰 수 있습니다. 용서할 수 있는 사람을 용서 하는 것 뿐만 아니라 나에게 상처를 주고, 자존심을 상하게 하고, 억울하게 한 그들을 용서하는 것이 진정한 용서입니다. 이를 위해서는 내 힘으로 용서하는 것이 아닌 십자가의 용서를 볼 수 있어야 합니다.
3.진정한 평화는 우리가 성령 충만할 때 지속됩니다.
-평화의 문제는 결국 지속성에 따릅니다. 잠깐 평화는 누릴 수 있지만, 지속되는 평화를 누리는 것은 너무나 어려운 일입니다.
성경에 기록된 예수님의 모습을 보면 예수님은 항상 성령님과 동행하며 함께 사역하신 것을 볼 수 있습니다.
왜냐하면 예수님의 사역은 사탄과의 싸움이었고, 성령님의 도우심이 필요하였기 때문입니다.
가장 중요한 사실은 예수님께 임한 성령님이 오늘날 우리에게도 똑같이 임하신다는 것입니다.
성령님은 지혜와 총명, 모략과 권능의 영으로 묘사되어 있습니다.
-지혜와 총명 = 인생을 살아가는 지혜와 통찰력
-모략과 권능 = 세상을 통치하는 지혜
우리는 날마다 매 순간마다 성령의 충만을 구해야 합니다. 성령충만 하기 위해서는 말씀과 기도를 통해 하나님과 친밀하게 가까이 지내야 합니다.
개인적으로 보내는 시간에 하나님의 말씀을 듣고 기도생활을 하면 반드시 자신을 향한 하나님의 뜻을 발견 할 수 있을 것입니다.
성령충만으로 평안을 누리는 성탄이 되시길 축복합니다.

Title: Jesus who came as the King of Peace

In 2018 we were able to see peace amidst crisis of division and war through Inter-Korean summit and North Korea-US summit.
These days we are living in a fast changing generation and thus live in fear and worry about the future.
So how can we enjoy peace in this world?
1. True peace starts from Jesus Christ.
We all want peace but we cannot achieve that by our strength. Through today's passage where it says 'A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse (Father of David)', implies that Christ will be born from David's descendants. Jesse was an ordinary person who grew up in a multicultural family but still Jesus came from this family. David's descendants came down through south of Juda, and was destroyed by Babylon. They became prisoners and had no hope, however after 70 years later they built a temple and God restored their people and sent Jesus as David's descendant following His prophecy.
A shoot is tiny and weak, but it has life inside it which means there is hope. Like so, Jesus came down as a weak baby but gave us a gift of resurrection and gave us hope. Believing Jesus doesn't mean that we live a wealthy and comfortable life, it means to trust Him and follow His words even in suffering. Apostle Paul said our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. Death, despair, war issues can only be solved by God. For true peace we must meet Jesus. If we have Jesus in us, we have peace in us.
Good house, good car etc. whatever we owe cannot give us peace. We need to know that if we distance away from Jesus we are nothing.
2. True peace is achieved through a community of love.
Prophets must be read in various views and must be interpretated with no time limit.
Today's passage Isaiah is a prophet about the time after the second coming of Jesus.
It's a prophet about the law of the jungle which has ended and a peaceful time which is coming after the second coming of Jesus.
Church is to become one in the love of Jesus. Forgive and reconcile with others to make peace by the love of the cross.
Different people from different background, different thoughts and values meet at church but we should all be able to become one and a community of love because of Jesus.
If we are able to achieve a community of love we can achieve peace. Not only forgiving people who we can forgive, but even forgiving those who hurt us, hurt our pride and make us feel victimized is the real forgiveness. For this to happen we must look upon the forgiveness on the cross not by our strength.
3. True peace will last when we are filled with the Holy Spirit.
The issue of peace follows continuity. We can enjoy peace for a moment, but to have a continuous peace is very challenging.
If we look at Jesus described on the bible, we can see that He was always with the Holy Spirit and worked together. This is because Jesus' ministry was a war between satans and the help of the Holy Spirit was required.
The important thing to know is that the same Holy Spirit who has worked with Jesus is now working with us as well.
The Holy Spirit is described as the spirit of wisdom and of understanding, counsel and of power.
Wisdom and of understanding = Wisdom and insight for living
Counsel and of power = Wisdom to rule the world
We should seek for the Holy Spirit to be filled in us everyday, every moment. To be filled with the Holy Spirit we must be intimate with God through His words and prayers. We will find His will for us if we take time to listen to His words and pray during our personal time.
