<Issue No. 26-9> When We Set Our Priorities Right, Life Begins to Change

If we were to describe the lives of modern people in one word, it would be “busyness.” Between the overwhelming responsibility of raising children, the intense competition to survive at school and work, and the effort to take care of our health and hobbies afterwards, the daily lives of many of our church members often resemble constantly turning gears. It is hard not to feel concerned when we see such relentless schedules.

In particular, many people tend to focus only on the “results,” such as owning a home or achieving success in business. Of course, these are important aspects of life. However, there is a serious trap we must remember. When we become consumed by busyness and lose sight of the most important thing—the direction of our lives—our faith loses its vitality and can become nothing more than dry religious routine.

Faith is not simply a religious activity of attending church once a week. Rather, it is a real life lived before God in every area of our lives. When we readjust our priorities and return the position of Lordship in our lives back to God, true change begins.

Here are some practical habits of faith that can help bring about this change:

1. “Altar Prayer” — Offering the First Hour of the Day

Try waking up just 30 minutes earlier each morning. Spend that time praying before the pulpit in the sanctuary and begin your day with God. Those 30 minutes will help you gain spiritual authority over the remaining 23 hours and 30 minutes of your day.

2. Fellowship with a “Spiritual Family” — Learning and Sharing

Grow in the knowledge of God through weekly Life Bible Study, and share the joys and struggles of life with your small group members. Alone we are easily discouraged, but together with our spiritual family we gain strength to overcome the world.

For those who find it difficult to attend a small group, the “Pastor’s Small Group” will begin this Saturday. We warmly encourage your participation.

3. Ministry through “United Worship” and the “Sent Workplace (Work or School)”

After receiving heavenly blessings through Sunday united worship, our attention should turn toward our workplaces and society. Serving and caring for the VIPs (evangelism contacts) around us is the worship we offer through our daily lives.

Just as financial educator John Lee emphasizes, “Make money work for you,” we must make our faith work in the field of life. Beyond a formal faith that only steps into church on Sundays, we must have the courage to live as disciples who remain in God’s Word and enjoy true freedom. When our priorities are set right, wandering in life comes to an end. Then God’s peace flows into our lives, and His blessing of prosperity draws near. This week, would you pause from your busyness and place God at the very front of your life? That small decision can transform your life into a place of miracles.

“What is one priority I will practice this week?”
